Renting a property
If you’re looking to rent a property make sure you budget for the additional outgoings such as utility bills and council tax. Once you have a budget in mind, list the priorities for your new home, taking into account the location; is it close to local amenities, schools, your workplace, family and friends? are the surrounding transport links adequate?
Not all rental properties allow pets, so if applicable this will need to be checked with your prospective landlord. If you are planning on renting with someone else, sit down and agree each person’s responsibilities for paying bills etc. Your new landlord will ask for references which could include your previous landlord and/or employer. Make sure you have details of these contacts to hand.
Once you know what to look for, with a budget in mind – use our search to find suitable properties to let.
