About Gale & Snowden

Gale & Snowden are Architects who seek to create buildings and landscapes that are ecologically sustainable. The practice was formed in 1992 and has since established itself at the forefront of environmentally concious design working locally and nation-wide. Gale & Snowden have four principle designers: David Gale, Ian Snowden, Allyson Vernon and Lawrence Millyard

The practice has undertaken research into ecological building structures, components and materials and has designed the first ecological building centre in the UK.

The Practice also specialises in undertaking Community projects and is experienced in working with Community groups and the encouragement of Community participation.

Their combined experience includes work on projects for Community groups, University student residency accommodation, Housing Association projects, renovation and new build work to historic listed buildings, fast track refurbishment projects, public exhibition buildings and interior designs as well as one off quality housing schemes.

The Practice is a registered Consultant to the Building Research Establishment and Department of Environment Transport and the Regions.
